The department of Botany has an extension society known as the Botanical society of J.B. college which plays a part and parcel role in the intellectual and personality development of the members by organising various departmental programmes. Some of the activities undertaken under the botanical society are
- Publication of departmental magazine ASSAMICA.
- Wall magazine .
- Organising various competions.
- Organizing plantation programme.
- Celebration of various programmes such as departmental day, fresh man social and farewell.
- Extension activities.
- Organising Exhibition etc.
